Three Days in Bed with a Stranger

The morning light is dark with rain.
There is an unfinished tattoo
on her left shoulder.
And I remember
you closing the door on us.
Your words hung in the air for days,
like this Louisianan heat.
As if saying that you still loved me
would set things right.
There is an unfinished tattoo
on her left shoulder.
In the dark. I am grateful.
That our scars don’teven matter

  1. nicely written….sometimes even with love….we always find ourselves in bed with a stranger at times….there is always scars we try to hide…it takes more than a little rain to wash it away….might need some wind and a heavy downpour….haha….anyways….as always…you make me think….thank you for that…

  3. Love is often the greatest stranger of all. We are lead by our hearts to believe what our minds tell us is entirely untrue.. yet we dance… and dance.. I wonder why?
As always, I love your writing Charles x
